Born to an alchoholic father and a verbally abused mother, Chelsea was bound to a dramatic life from the start. Chelsea doesn't remember her first few years very well. Her father owned a horse and cattle farm, selling beef cattle and bucking bulls for the rodeos. Her mother was a horse trainer and stay-at-home mom. As she got older her mother stressed to her not going outside, her mother also not able to do the same. Her mother was only able to keep her trainer job by riding in covered arenas because she was albino, making Chelsea also pick up the trait halfway. Her mother homeschooled her and she struggled with the fact that she could never leave the house and make friends and have a normal life. When he father would drink himself in a stupor he would find her, corner her, and whisper things to her about how the sun would melt her face off, about how he would stick every part of her body out into the light one by one so she could feel fresh pain every time.
She grew to having secret hiding places in the house and at night when she tried to cry herself to sleep she could hear her father yelling at her mother, her mother's sobs echoing her owns as she would sometimes drift into a sleep filled with glowing monsters. Her mother would try to keep her in the peaceful barn as much as possible, teaching her her books and to sing. Her singing improved so much that her mother found someone to record her and sent tapes to labels. Shortly it was found out that Chelsea would have a baby sister, it didn't very long before the child was brought home but her mother wasn't able to take care of it like she did with her first child. Chelsea ended up being the mother for her little sister, Samantha, feeding, cleaning, singing to her. Her voice would often drift through the house, the haunting melodies she sang of the child songs of every day use would turn into sad ballads.
One day after coming in from the barn, she was fifteen now, she heard her father yelling again but the screams that came from her mother were now frantic. Her own scream came from her as she ran to find her mother, voice growing more and more hoarse as she searched the large house, each bloodcurdling scream from her mother chilling her blood. She hadn't heard a sound from her sister, Samantha slept so uneasily she was sure she was awake and wondering about now that she could walk. The hallway to the kitchen held her father's shadow, his hands bloody, his shirt rumpled and had holes in it. A knife, still stuck in her mother's twitching form, was mirrored in Chelsea's eyes. Only a few feet from her mother lie her sister, another knife dominating her body but this time her father had performed sick art on her. A bloody smile had been carved into her younger sister's face. Her sister never smiled, never unless Chelsea sang for her.
Chelsea can only remember running from her father. Down the stairs, throgh the living room, pulling at the door with all her might. She was such a thin and weak child it was all she could do to get the door open. Police and ambulance were already speeding toward the house and in her frantic hurry to get away from her father she forgot about the sun. Her enemy, her death. Pain she thought would kill her, pain that would only burn her skin badly, lanced through her. It was lies she had been fed but she had soaked it up like a sponge. After she passed out she woke up here and now she's been here for a while. She's almost forgotten how old she is.
