Night rolled over the grounds of the asylum. As the moon gleamed its white, opaque light over the wilted grounds and stone buildings, Ben Summers lay awake in his bed. Well, if you could even call it a bed. It was more like a cot of sorts. Either way, he was awake and exhausted as usual. He was quite accustomed to being fatigued. It was his way of life after all. But it took a lot of focus not to drift away into the hellish realm of sleep. His fellow roommates were nodding away and snoring lightly. Just watching them sleep made him uncomfortable. How did they know that someone wasn't just going to come and slice their throats open? Anything was possible. Ben knew he had to be ready for it.
They tried to make him take sleeping pills, but he was a master of hiding them in the crevices of his mouth and later disposing them in the toilet. They weren't a smart enough facility to properly monitor those types of things anyway. Sometimes they'd try to pull a needle on him and he had no choice but to fall into a forced sleep, but they knew that would result in him lashing out and needing to be restrained so it wasn't a daily occurrence. At the moment he was feeling quite bored. He usually just laid there till the morning, but tonight he felt like wandering. Their doors were left open and the orderlies were playing cards in the lounge. It was quite easy to roam when you wanted to. And tonight Ben felt like doing just that.
He slid into his sneakers and crept carefully across the room. The last thing he needed was one of his roommates asking him what he was doing. He didn't feel like talking to them. And he hardly ever did. Once in the corridor he had to decide where to go. It was a good idea in his head, but now that he was out he didn't really know what to do. He figured he might as well keep walking till he found something interesting. He passed the canteen, a few classrooms, and the therapy rooms. Still, nothing was all that interesting. But then he heard a patter of footsteps. His heart stopped for a moment. If someone found him they might try and stick him with one of those needles again. He couldn't let that happen. He slid into the closest doorway and shut it behind him.
Ben found himself on a stairway, however. Everything was completely dark and he had no idea where he was. He walked down slowly, groping at the walls for support. As he went he felt himself going lower and lower below the earth. It was the basement. Once he reached the floor he slid against the wall and sat down in a panic. He was numbed by his own fear of darkness. This was a waking nightmare.

tavius hated crowds in fear of being touched, but he hated being alone in fear of noa's return. he sniffled and hugged himself as he stood in the corridor. it was night time now, maybe. he wasn't sure. all he knew was that the floor was freezing his bare feet. he shuddered, but still didn't move. he remained solidly standing - somewhere by the staff room - for approximately two hours before he dragged himself slowly down the corridor. he was walking blind, he always did. he just let his feet take him. it'd been his feet that had saved him from noa, he knew he could trust them to lead him to the right place.
noa takeshi was a man of nightmares. he disguised himself as a teacher in japan during the day, one who own a red light district strip club by night. what's so big about that fact? because it was part of the underground red-light district. that was how tavius had found himself working there at just fourteen, after the death of one of his brother's best friends, after the death that his precious baby brother blamed solely on him. tavius quit doing drugs when the boy died and began working for noa.
noa was a cruel man. he appeared to hate most people, but he had a strong and twisted liking for tavius. it terrified the boy and he had a right to be terrified. because one day while running an errand tavius was kidnapped by noa. he was tied down to metal slab of a bed and locked in a tiny and cold room with a heavy metal door. there was no window in they tiny room in the warehouse. tavius lived a year staring at metal as he was repeatedly raped, beaten and starved.
his escape came to pass because noa became careless and passed out drunk. less than six months after his escape though, tavius was sent here. he trembled lightly as he walked blindly, the memories of the horrid tale of his life. he didn't realise he was in the basement until he heard the door go once more. he jerked back into reality and looked around himself in a panic. he screamed, sure in his daydreaming noa had found him once more. he bit his lip to stop the screaming and looked around in panic, his eyes had adjusted to darkness easily.
"o-o-ohaiyou....?
[/b]" he stammered in question taking a step in ben's direction. [/blockquote][/size][/blockquote]
